Lecture 1 of the “Gender and Sexuality Studies” Course
In the first lecture of the course, basic notions and concepts concerning the social formation and regulation of gender and sexuality are examined. In this lecture you will learn about: (1) the importance of gender and sexuality topics in contemporary socio-political processes; (2) the difference between sex, gender and sexuality; (3) the main sociological approaches to the analysis of gender and sexuality; (4) gender and sexuality as cognitive and analytical tools in the social sciences.
