MILIEU held a panel on the topic of “The challenge of constructing an inclusive academy in Eastern and Southern Europe: women, disabilities and equality in Higher Education” at the 9th European Communication Conference “Rethinking Impact” that took place on 19-22 October 2022 in Aarhus, Denmark.
The panel delved into challenges and good practices in the domain of gender, disability, and inclusion in Eastern and Southern Europe. Examples from MILIEU and related European R&I projects were shared with the aim of fostering gender equality and female careers in the academy, as well as unlocking and enhancing excellent research in the domain of women, disability, and inclusion, largely relying on twinning activities among partners.
As elsewhere in MILIEU, compliance with Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) principles and ERA recommendations were promoted in all phases of the initiative.
Presentors in the MILIEU Panel were Ralitsa Dimitrova, Anna Popova, Shaban Darakchi, Anna Siri, Cinzia Leone, Rita Bencivenga, Olga Kolotouchkina, Liisa Hänninen, Clara Sánchez Valiente.
The 2022 ECREA Conference was organized by the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), the Department of Media and Journalism Studies at Aarhus University (AU) and the Danish School of Media and Journalism (DMJX).
